This subclass covers the production and distribution of gas, including both natural and synthetic gas, delivered to consumers through mains. It also encompasses activities related to gas marketing and brokerage.

  • Production of gas for supply by carbonation of coal, from by-products of agriculture, or from waste
  • Manufacture of gaseous fuels with a specified calorific value through purification, blending, and other processes from various gases including natural gas
  • Transportation, distribution, and supply of gaseous fuels through a system of mains
  • Sale of gas to users through mains
  • Activities of gas brokers or agents arranging the sale of gas over distribution systems operated by others
  • Commodity and transport capacity exchanges of gaseous fuels
